“What are you, Thor, god of hammers?”
What’s it about?
It’s the one where Thor loses his beautiful hair and hammer, but he does start gaining our attention.
Who’s in it?
Chris Hemsworth, Chris Hemsworth’s abs, Chris Hemsworth’s arms, Chris Hemsworth’s hair, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Rough Fella, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Charles Miner, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins.
Why should I watch it?
+ One of the funniest MCU films you’ll ever see
+ Injected some personality into Thor
+ Kinda Peter Quill-esque at times
+ Korg is fucking hilarious, his observational jokes are on point
+ But you kinda miss some his jokes cos you’re still laughing at the first one
+ Should that be in the negative section?
+ Loved Jeff Goldblum in a Jeff Goldblum type role
+ Thought Hela was one of the better MCU villains
+ And the history of Asgard makes sense too
+ Empires are built on bloodshed, right?
+ Valkyrie was such a badass, an alcoholic badass at that
+ One man’s trash is another man’s incredible Hulk
+ More like incredible Bulk, am I right?
+ Guy hangs dong apparently
+ Giving him child-like traits was pretty jokes, good to hear him finally talk
+ Always a treat to see the evolution of the relationship between Loki and Thor
+ Squeezing as much out of Idris Elba as possible
+ Dr. Strange is moving like a real pro since we last saw him
+ Throwback jokes from past Avenger films
+ Some shots from the trailer doesn’t appear or have been altered, which is great
+ Trailers should do that more often
+ Also, get rid of the fucking teaser before you play the actual trailer, that shit is whack
+ Where was I?
+ Costumes, environment were colourful AF
+ 80% of the dialogue was improvised, that’s maaaaad
+ Turning Ragnarok into a bad thing to a good thing was a good twist
+ Sweet Matt Damon cameo
Why shouldn’t I watch it?
– Good thing Thor took his people to Earth, where all refugees are welcomed…
– Oh, wait
– Set up of the movie felt ruuuuuuushed
– What was Hela’s power?
– Unlimited swords?
– Is she the goddess of swords?
– Or the goddess of expositions?
– Also, how do they choose what they’ll be a god of?
– Do you have to like register their birth name and god power type when they’re born?
One of the funniest entry from Marvel yet, which no one was expecting, I don’t think. A lot of consequences for the MCU as well, a bit like The Winter Soldier. Still can’t get over Thor losing his eye. It literally still haunts me #Papyrus. Anyway, the film was Thor-rific. Entertaining Thor-out. Just Thor-mendous. Really Thor-larious. Excuse my Thor-rible puns. I’m Thor-ry.
I just made you sound like Mike Thyton.
