“I’m sorry I didn’t do none of it right.”
What’s it about?
The Guardians of the Galaxy piss off a bunch of walking jewellery, Peter meets papa Quill and loads of underlying issues gets resolved.
Who’s in it?
Burt Macklin in space, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, a guy who lives his life a quarter mile at a time, Merle Dixon, Karen Gillan, Kurt Russell, nepotism and Rocky Balboa.
Why should I watch it?
+ Just great to see the gang back again, so much love for these characters
+ Movie uses the buddy system and splits the team in pairs
+ Surprised at how well the Yondu and Rocket pairing worked, got pretty deep at times so make sure to wear armbands
+ Also, that whistle arrow thingy is OP as fuck
+ Loved the Gamora and Nebula pairing, makes Nebula more likeable and shows how shitty Thanos is
+ Bad dads seem to be a theme in the movie
+ Mantis and Drax coupling makes for some good comedy, social awkwardness and dead pan jokes
+ Treat them mean, keep them keen Drax
+ Finally, we see Peter spending time with his dad, Kurt Russell nailed Ego
+ Also fleshes out Yondu’s relationship with Peter, why he’s got a soft spot for him
+ I guess the lesson is that, real dads teaches their kids how to shoot a gun and steal from people
+ Baby
+ Groot
+ Is
+ Fucking
+ Adorable
+ He’s got cute and funny scenes sprinkled throughout
+ Your maternal instincts kicks in every time you see him
+ Baby Groot misunderstanding people was jokes
+ Although, that toe scene was fucking dark
+ Dance intro scene is back and it was fucking amazing
+ Liked the scene transitions using Awesome Mix Vol. 2
+ Meredith Quill, back at it again with that mixtape 🔥🔥🔥
+ Colourful costumes and sceneries
+ Finding tape scene was my favourite joke
+ Movie has heart, emotional at some points
+ Loads of therapy going around in this movie, breaking down walls and shit
+ Like the first one, it kinda has one main bad guy and an extra faction of bad guys after them
+ Movie and tv references everywhere
+ Couple of reoccurring jokes
+ Obligatory topless Chris Pratt scene
Why shouldn’t I watch it?
– Some of the jokes fell a bit flat
– Like, no one in the audience laughed
– Bodies falling down looked to comical that one time
– First one had a tighter storyline
– Surprising Peter didn’t end up a stripper yet with all his daddy issues
– Even Gamora and Nebula when I think about it
– Peter and Gamora are worst than Ross and Rachel
– Mantis is pretty much the world’s biggest sleeping pill
– She puts more people to sleep than Conor McGregor
– Who the fuck uses Zune?
– Drax loves being covered in yellow fluids apparently

Anything else?
Although this films is also highly entertaining, gotta say that I enjoyed the first one more. Is it due to the novelty? Maybe. It’s still the only movie about “family” featuring Vin Diesel and a former WWE wrestler that you should be watching. Also stick around for FIVE end credit scenes. I know right? Might as well have shown us the sequel. Groot related one was my favourite. Funny insight. So, while I gave GoTG an 8/10, Vol. 2 gets a…
7/10

This looks fun. But it always seems like mission impossible for a sequel to beat the first. Nice review.

Very fair review. Got to say that the audience in my screening laughed a lot at the film and I found it to be very consistently funny. That said, it is hampered by a weak plot and the design does walk a tight line between being impressive and overwhelming

Yeah maybe it’s the audience I was with aha there loads of funny parts though. Yeah it’s not the strongest. Still a fun ride but I wouldn’t go back to the cinema to see it again.

The special effects and funny looking aliens will make up for the light substance. That’s what this is after all, an action sci-fi.

Aha thank you! 🙂 Yeah aha it was Microsoft’s failed attempt of competing with the iPod if I remember correctly.

– Who the fuck uses Zune?
Maybe that’s why it’s found its way to the other galaxy. Like thru intergalactic ebay perhaps?
Also, wouldn’t it be way cooler for Star-Lord to replace his Walkman with Zune rather than an iPod?

Not gonna lie, I kinda wanted Tony Stark to be the one that gives him a new device 😦 That would’ve been cool, I think.

I liked it as Yondu’s parting gift. It fits the movie’s themes. Also, I think it’s kind of a joke–it’s Zune, it’s dead just like Walkman—perhaps also a bait for those guys in Honest Trailers, so they can make a joke about something that’s obviously a joke. (I hope I making sense.)
