“I’d like to think if you’re seeing me, you’re having the worst day of your life.”
What’s it about?
The story of a creepy guy who climbs the crime journalism ladder by crossing the line of being an observer to manipulating and committing crimes .
Who’s in it?
Jake Gyllenhaal with even less emotion that Kirsten Stewart, Rene Russo and Bill Paxton.
Why should I watch it?
+ Probably Jake Gylenhaal’s best performance yet
+ Lou is a very interesting character
+ He’s a smart and creepy psychopath but you want him to succeed
+ Doesn’t see people as people, but as potential stories
+ Media caring about number of views, not news
+ Intense restaurant scene (don’t know what’s gonna happen)
+ Great ending
Why shouldn’t I watch it?
– If you love watching the news
– It’s like loving chicken nuggets
– You don’t really wanna know how it’s made
Not sure which is a more frightening thought, the fact that people like this guy actually exist or that there are actual professions where people like him could succeed in. It’s such a sleazy job making money on other people’s tragedies but at the same time, it wouldn’t exist if people didn’t want to watch that sort of thing.
